(More) Limericks in Hinglish

By Bawa

There is this Gujju called Anjana
Who fell in love with Vivek, the ultimate south Indiana
In a blink of an eye
She married the guy
Now there is dal dhokli for lunch and for dinner rice and rasama

Abhi can be stubborn as a mule
But that's an exception, not the rule
He is daring and charming
and can be disarming
Say what you want, Abhi is cool!

To tickle Rashmin is so much fun
You can even do it to his bum
He squeals loudly with mirth
Each time you lightly press his girth
Or his feet, or his hip or his tum!

Mayur is daft
Its as simple as that
He talks gibberish
And calls it Engarish
But whatever you say, he is not fat!

Our Suparna Chatterjee
Loves to eat Aloo and Mutterjee
With salt and pepper - a dash
Its all gone in a flash
Then she burps and writes a best-seller jee!

(p.s: I'll eat aloo and mutterjee only if its prepared by Bawajee)

There was this dude called Devang
Trading shares was his passion
But when the stock market crashed
He carried on unabashed
Being strong from within with Sadhana and Satsang :)

Limericks in Hinglish

By Abhiram

There was this dude called Abhiram
Who went about with a handycam...
To get the devi's flowers was his duty
He was a south Indian who knew to make the roti
Boy, I do know to write a limerick; now time to Vishram.

Once upon a time in the dakshin
There was a guy who came from the pashchim
guy wanted food (Italian or mexican)
to eat that was good
but all he got was bhaath which was yellow, orange or green

A guy in Bombay called lil Poo
Used to love to spend time in the Loo
Once when he sat on the throne
making sure he was quite alone
He did poo along with some susu! :)

For a long time in Vyas Kuteeram
There lived a dude called abhiram
He was known for his dancing
And his abhiramisming
And eating his sambhar with rasam

There was once a bawa named Bawa
Who baked in the oven or cooked on the tawa
But eating his dhansak or chowder
Inflicted a rare speech disorder
All one could say was WAH WAH! WAH WAH!WAH WAH!

There was once a yogi named Boonkie
Who became inexplicably cranky
In spite of all the dhyan,
And all the seva, satsang and gyan
If you forgot even once to wear a bindi

There was this couple, Piu and Rashmin
Who had the secret to joy everlasting
Cos the time she took to dress
He used it to play chess
Can’t find the last line so I’ll go Ting Ting ti Ting

There was once this dude called Gowri
Yup, you heard that right!

There was this guy called Prasanna
Really good with gaana bajaana
But he couldn’t get a date
Perhaps it was fate
Some chicks were too old for him and the others called him Anna

Who am I

I am the body, some say just a dress
I serve to express, endeavor to impress.
I am made of the food I chew,
Shaped by the exercise I do.
Pure and strong I should be,
But is there all that is to me.

I am the flow, I am the Breath,
With me happens birth and death.
Synching with the rhythm of the universe;
With the world, in and out, I converse.

I am the mind, an energy field,
With thoughts and feelings, I am revealed.
Past and future, I instantly traverse,
In the moment, I joyfully immerse.
I enjoy the world through the five senses,
And gain strength when I drop my defenses.

I am the intellect, called upon to decide,
To go for the good or with the bad I side.
Judgements and doubts, are my disease,
Rush of prana, my welcome release.
Innocence triggers my intuition,
Beyond the ‘limited’ edition.

I am the chitta, storing past impressions,
With it, I shape the possible expressions.
Clinging to the negative,
Becomes quite addictive,
But awareness and meditation make me free
With a simple click, erase unwanted history.

I am the ego, subtle and powerful,
Entertaining, and at times frightful.
To separate and divide is my rule,
My biggest fear is to be a fool.
But Naturalness humbles me,
Unconditional love tumbles me.

Am I all of the above or above it all,
Who is wondering deep, who is watching tall,
The eye of the eye, the mind of the mind,
The infinite, the eternal spirit or its kind.
Am I the truth or the love beyond emotion,
Am I the wave or the whole of the ocean.
Am I the empty space that is, was and will be,
I don’t know, who or what is the real me…

I am the Dada, Dinesh dada
D in the B n D, la la la la la.

The cool and the compassion
Remixed with dispassion n passion

Sweetness and Firmness
Thanks to yoga and fitness.

Trained in Material science
Blossomed in Spirituality

Who am I? - by Suman

Five elements, an abode I stay…
Whose five windows, through I see.
While three seasons shower me wet…
Vascillating between two friends,
whose presence I mostly fret.
Sometimes clear, blurred otherwise…
Playing hide n seek all my life.
A reflection of myself, I could see in thee…
At the brink of realization you seem to flee.
Feels like a play,
I, the player or pawn?
Intrigued by this question,
I sing the life song.
Looking in pillar and post…
Waiting for you.
Lost I was in the amazing race…
Oh dear, when will I see your face?
What to do?
Where to go?
Whom to ask?
Saddened I was.
Adding a dash of love and fun…
putting an end to my dry run.
Enters the Guru,
Aho! Ab life hoti hai shuru…
Treading the path with earnest zest…
I am sure to find.
What remains an eternal quest…
Is who am I?
Love,
Suman.
